Cosmetic Brow Tattoo

Powder brows are a semi-permanent cosmetic makeup technique designed to create eyebrows with soft powdery effect, similar to the look of powder makeup. The powder brow result is achieved using a shading technique with a permanent makeup device that is like a tattoo gun to lightly fill in colour to achieve the soft powder look.

Referred to as the 'new microblading,' powder brows are perfect for people who already have full brows but want to add a little extra definition without the hassle and inconvenience of filling in their brows every day. It is also a great option for oily skin types, as the technique typically holds the pigment longer than feather touch brows performed with a micro blade.

Ombre Brows offer a full looking eyebrow that has natural hair strokes at the front and fuller powder colour on the ends.

The procedure uses a combination of Microblading also known as Feather touch strokes and the micro shading technique of powder brows. Offering the perfect option for those who like a full looking more sculpted looking brow, feather hair strokes are done at the front of the brow using Microblading which is blended into micro shading on the ends to create the perfectly defined shaded tail.

Ombre brows provide semi permanent definition and the opportunity to achieve the brows you want without the inconvenience of having to wear make-up daily.

• Do not work out the day of the procedure.
• Do not tan or have a sunburned face.
• Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen 24 hours beforehand.
• No alcohol or caffeine on the day of the procedure.
• No brow waxing for 3 days pre procedure.
• No brow tinting for 2 weeks before procedure.

Please note that you will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.

The Following treatments are not recommended 30 days before the treatment:

• Anti Wrinkle Injections and Fillers
• Fruit or Milk acids
• Laser Treatments
• Chemical Peels
• Exposure to strong sunlight

• NO exercise or extended direct sunlight for 7 days to prevent the permanent eyebrow tattoo from becoming infected.
• Do not touch the healing pigmented area with your fingers as they may have bacteria on them.   
• Redness and swelling is usually minimal, and will disappear within 48 hours, in rare case it may reach 3 days.
• The treated area may feel a bit like sunburn afterwards but there should be minimal discomfort.
• Clients may experience a headache following the treatment.
• Apply all aftercare product using a clean cotton swab and not your fingertips.
• Keep the tattooed area clean by rinsing with lukewarm water and patting dry with a disposable paper towel.
• While showering or bathing, avoid using any soaps or cleansers on the treated area for the first day unless prescribed by your therapist as they can be detrimental to the bonding process that must take place for the pigment to stabilise in the dermis.  Only use balm sold on the day of treatment for the following week.
• Please note after care advice with respect to wetting and cleansing the brow area will be dependent on the pigments used by your therapist. Please follow the advice given post treatment and consult your salon if you have any queries.

• DO NOT pick or scratch at the dry skin/flakiness; let the skin fall off naturally. Picking can cause scarring and premature loss of pigment. IMPORTANT: Once the flakes have fallen off, a shiny layer of healing skin will completely cover the hair strokes. It may appear as though the tattooed area has completely disappeared.

• DO NOT apply make-up to the tattooed area for the first 2 weeks. Chemicals of any kind may interfere with the healing and color of your tattoo.
• Once the treated area is completely healed, any changes or additions that need to be made can be done at your follow-up appointment no sooner than 4 - 6 weeks later.
• The colour of your permanent eyebrow tattoo will be extremely dark during the first 5 to 7 days. 7 days later, it loses 40 to 50% intensity.

A cosmetic brow tattoo provides a semi-permanent look that has been known to last for many years but generally will 'fade' or metabolise over time which is why we recommend maintenance visits to refresh the look and crispness. The technique differs from traditional tattooing in that a pigment is used instead of an ink. Natural fading will occur from external factors like exposure to the sun as well as internal factors such as the gradual breakdown of the pigment. The fading process will differ between people and come down to skin type and lifestyle factors.

Great results can be achieved after the first permanent brow tattoo session; however, we prescribe a follow up visit after the eyebrows have healed to perfect the look and ensure the colour is even throughout the whole eyebrow or to add any more density to the eyebrow.

Feather touch brows are achieved using a handheld tool to create natural hair strokes throughout the brows to shape and fill in gaps and can provide a 'fluffy' full look which is why they are commonly referred to as 'feathers'. Powder brows are created with a digital machine, which allows soft pixels of pigment to be layered into the existing brow creating a soft 'velvet' powder look.
