Plasma Fibroblast Therapy

Introducing Plasma Fibroblast Therapy, the newest cosmetic procedure available at Complete Skin & Beauty. Plasma Pen targets a wide variety of skin conditions and offers a great alternative to more invasive, surgical procedures such as plastic surgery. It significantly tightens, lifts, resurfaces and regenerates the skin.

As we age, the dermal layer of our skin thins, we produce less collagen, and we lose elasticity. As a result, we start to see signs of sagging and wrinkling on the skins surface.

What is it? Plasma Fibroblast is an innovative development in aesthetic treatments using the fourth state of matter, plasma. It is the world’s most advanced, non-invasive, skin lifting, skin tightening and rejuvenation device. The Plaxpot Plasma Pen is a TGA and CE approved device used to perform fibroblast therapy, a technique used to stimulate the production of Collagen in the skin

How does it work? This treatment targets Fibroblasts, the cells in our skin responsible for producing collagen and elastin. Fibroblasts play an important role in helping the skins wound healing processes, as well as maintaining skin firmness and tightness.

The Plasma Pen creates superficial trauma via plasma arcs from a small probe extending from the body of the device. The plasma tip doesn’t directly touch the skin, but instead releases a high-frequency, targeted current just above the skins surface. The thermal triggers create micro-injuries in the skin’s layer causing the skin in its vicinity to tighten, lift and resurface. Results can be seen over 90 days post treatment, as the skin continues to look tighter and smoother.

What concerns are treated? Plasma Fibroblast is amazing for treating signs of ageing and is successful in visibly tightening areas such as:

  • Crows Feet
  • Frown Lines/ Forehead
  • Marionettes (smoking lines if you may)
  • Jowls
  • Hooded or droopy eyelids
  • Neck lifts (Neck bands and deeper wrinkles)
  • Brow Lift
  • Cheek Lift

Fibroblast Therapy is not limited to treating this concern only. The Plasma Pen can also effectively achieve:

  • Reduction of scarring
  • Reduction of stretch marks
  • Removal of skin tags or milia
  • Reduction of skin tissue (Hyperplasia)
  • Contouring of the face ie. Nose, lips etc
  • Shrinking vascular lesions
  • Reduce signs of sun damage and pigmentation

What does it feel like? Plasma Pen is mildly to moderately uncomfortable. Everyone’s pain level is different and some areas of the body are more sensitive than others. Prior to the treatment, we will apply topical anaesthetic to help reduce any discomfort and to make the treatment as comfortable as possible.

How long does the treatment take? The procedure can take between 30 - 60 minutes and is dependent on the size of the area being treated.

What do I need to know post-treatment? Once the treatment is finished, your therapist will apply DermaHeal - a Plasma Fibroblast post care treatment balm, to help cool and protect the area, and aid in the healing process.

Over the following 24-72 hours a mild sunburn-like sensation may be felt and small carbon crusts will form over the area in a dotted formation. These crusts are there to protect each micro wound, meaning it is important that they naturally fall off and are not picked off.

DermaHeal can continue to be applied to aid any discomfort and healing. Some mild swelling can be expected for 24-72 hours.

How many treatments are needed? Although great results can be seen after one session, you may need 1 - 3 treatments to see best results. The number of treatments depends on the severity of the area of concern. We recommend to consult with one of our skin therapists for a personalised treatment plan.

A consultation is required to discuss your skin concerns, suitability for the treatment and to advise a personalised treatment plan. Following the consultation, we will discuss a suitable day for your treatment, which will allow your skin a little downtime as it goes through the post-treatment healing process.

To learn more about this treatment, speak with your skin therapist at your next appointment. Alternatively, you can book a consultation online to see if you are an ideal candidate. Book Now
