Sustainable Packaging

Over the next few months, you will start to see a shift with some of the packaging in the O Cosmedics range with a reduction of up to 43.5% less plastic used. This is an exciting evolution to the range as the company has managed to solve the challenge of minimising waste without compromising on the efficacy and integrity of O’s active formulations.

The 13 products released with the new look packaging traditionally were housed in a double wall, which was a bottle within a bottle, but this has been reduced to one bottle decreasing the amount of plastic required. While it might seem like an easy task to reduce packaging, because O Cosmedics products contain active ingredients, they must be delivered with airless packaging to protect the product throughout its lifecycle making the switch to more sustainable solutions that little bit more challenging.

However, where there is a will, there is a way and committed to solutions for the environment as well as the skin, the company has been researching and exploring recyclable and reduced packaging options for a number of years and now the packaging manufacturers they work with are able to offer viable options.

These changes are only phase 1 of minimising the environmental footprint with the company committed to continually seek more sustainable practices which aligns to the core values of the Complete Skin & Beauty salon operators. Reduction of waste is only one step for O Cosmedics who are committed to evolution and keeping abreast with technology improvements.

Other benefits from this change you will soon see in salon and in your bathroom cabinet,  includes the fact that bottles are extremely user friendly and include a rotating lock to prevent spill and for ease of travel. Best of all less plastic means more product with the number one selling Gentle Antioxidant Cleanser now housing an additional 30ml of product.
